Teenagers

standing in a crowd of teenagers in front of their school on the last day, another adult explained to me that we were watching a “sound like a wookie” contest.

a budding geekwad overheard and turned to me to ask, “Do you know what a wookie is?”

And I said, “They’re the cute little guys on the forest moon of Endor, right?”

He and his friends sniggerd at my cluelessness and corrected me. “uhhh.. those are Ewoks?” They did not realized that I WON in so many ways, the most important of which is that I look like someone who doesn’t know what a wookie is.

But still someone who knows about the forest moon of Endor. Lots of detail there. If they’d been paying attention, they shouldn’t have believed you didn’t know about wookies. Bravo.

    exactly!
and furthermore, that energy shield WAS ORIGINALLY IMAGINED TO BE ON THE WOOKIE HOMEWORLD!

I have a similar approach to star trek fans. I hold up the vulcan salute and say, “Nanoo, nanoo.” They often correct me. I assume they later realize that I was making sport of them.

I make pretty good wookie sounds too and so does my friend’s old dog when she wants to go outside.

But why were you standing in a crowd of teenagers on their last day of school?
