Why do I blog? It is primarily an attempt to slow time down.
That is, life speeds by if I don’t stop to consider it more carefully and writing helps that process. All subjects from books to politics to cycling to computer programming seem a little richer when I’m writing about them. Having the responsibility to blog pushes me to do more and experiment more.
In the past, it was a great way to keep in touch with far-flung friends and family. For better or worse, Facebook has largely replaced blogging in that respect. I’m trying to turn the tide.
become a better writer
help people looking for info on the web
use it to become a better X. Where X = “cyclist, meditator, programmer, parent, citizen”
possibly increase traffic and get enough ad revenue to cover expenses.
